Dr. Freeney is the Director of Education and Assessments for the Laetare Group. He earned a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Sam Houston State University. He is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional with extensive experience in psychological assessments, counseling, and education.

Janet Sturtz
MA, MSW, LCSW-S, EMDR-C
Janet Sturtz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and board-approved Supervisor. She earned a Masters in Social Work from the University of South Florida and she is EMDR Certified. Janet has 30+ years of clinical experience, supporting clients with issues such as relationships, depression, anxiety, trauma, narcissistic abuse, domestic violence, mood swings, parenting, insomnia, self-esteem, health concerns, grief and bereavement, addictions, aging, ethics and more. She is particularly interested in EMDR.
In collaboration with the USF Center for Traumatology and the U.S. Southern Command, Janet helped train 60 mental health workers in San Salvador after El Salvador had suffered two major earthquakes in one year. She also helped design research interventions for victims of natural disasters throughout Central America.

Originally from Brazil, Samantha began her counseling career in 2005 and expanded her practice to the U.S. in 2021. She is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

She earned an M.Ed. in Educational Psychology from the University of Texas-Austin, and she is credentialed as a mediator through Travis County Dispute Resolution Center. She is also available for individual, marriage, and family counseling services in English and Spanish.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Tami wore multiple hats within the healthcare industry for over 20 years.
